The Hubble Space Telescope's Most Amazing Photos of Our Universe
|Share this article|
Launched by NASA in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has brought us incredible observations of distant planets, galaxies that are trillions of light years away, stars dying, black holes, and other unearthly phenomenons.
Many of these observations have led to breakthroughs in astrophysics such as Hubble's Law, which provided the first observational basis for the expansion of the universe. Today Hubble's law serves as the most cited evidence for the big bang theory.
Since the telescope orbits Earth above our atmosphere, it can peer much, much deeper into space, allowing us to observe the universe as it was millions and even billions of years ago - all possible due to the speed of light.
So, without further adue, here a few of the Hubble Telescopes' most impressive photos to date.
